Answers to your questions about Illumina Light Garden – tickets, times, travel, accessibility and more.

1. Tickets

Advance sales

We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance online. This will help you avoid queues at the box office. Only remaining tickets will be sold at the box office. On particularly popular days, there is a risk that certain or all time slots will already be sold out.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets for the Garden of Lights and the shuttle bus can only be purchased in advance at lichtergarten.at.

There is a box office on site, but it only sells remaining tickets with a €2 surcharge! On sold-out days or times, it is not guaranteed that you will receive a ticket on site. We recommend buying tickets in advance at lichtergarten.at!

Only card payment is possible at the box office.

Are bookings possible?

No, bookings are not possible.

How do the tickets differ?

• Flex ticket: One-time admission on the booked day from the start of operation until 7:30 p.m. at the latest. No time slot restrictions.
• Time slot ticket: Fixed time slot booked for the start of your visit
• Family ticket: Family tickets are valid every Monday and Thursday. Exceptions are Mondays and Thursdays during holidays and public holidays, as there are no family offers during this period! Family tickets include a maximum of 2 adults and 3 children. Please note the exact number of people when booking. It is not possible to add a second or third child at a later date!
• Free admission for children aged 0-5

Can I change my booking?

Rebookings are not possible unless you have purchased the rebooking option with your tickets. Rebookings can be made up to 24 hours before your visit; later rebookings cannot be made.

If you selected the rebooking option when purchasing your ticket, you can send us a new visit date at support@lichtergarten.at transmit.

Please note that rebooking is only possible within the same price category and subject to availability!

Can I cancel?

Cancellations are excluded.

Do children need tickets?

Children from 0-5 years do not need a ticket.
Children aged 6 to 14 visit the light garden at a reduced price.

Are there discounts for families?

Yes, Monday and Thursday (outside of school holidays) are family days at Illumina, when two adults and up to three children can visit the light garden for just €54.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, you can take your dog with you free of charge. The dog must always be kept on a lead.

Dogs are also allowed on the shuttle bus, provided they are on a leash and muzzled and sit under the seat/on your lap/between your legs (not in the aisle!).

Are there discounts for groups / seniors / students?

There are no discounts on the regular admission prices for these groups of people.

Are there discounts for holders of the following annual passes?

• Laxenburg Card (service or citizen card): Free ticket available on site upon presentation of the card and an ID card.
• Laxenburg Palace annual pass: 50% discount (only applies to annual pass holders) when purchasing tickets in the online shop. Codes are available from Laxenburg Palace Park.
• Lower Austria Card: No discounts, with the exception of limited-time discount promotions advertised on the Lower Austria Card website during their duration.

Are there discounts for people with disabilities or their accompanying persons?

No, there are no discounts on the regular admission prices for these groups of people.

Are there disabled toilet facilities on site?

Yes, there are disabled-accessible toilet facilities in dining area 1 and in Franzensburg.

Where can people with disabilities park?

Persons with disabilities can park directly in front of the entrance at car park 1 (Schlossplatz 1).

2. WEATHER

Does the Garden of Lights take place in all weathers?

Yes, the light garden is generally open in all weather conditions. If it has to be closed due to extreme weather conditions, this will be announced on the website in good time. In such rare cases, tickets remain valid. Our helpdesk team will provide information on how to proceed in this case.

3. PARKING

Are there free car parks without short-term parking zones?

Yes, parking spaces P1, P2, and P3 are available, but we kindly ask that you keep parking space P1 free for people with disabilities.

P2:

• Münchendorferstraße 5, 2361 Laxenburg

• Approx. 8 min walk to the main entrance

P3:

• Münchendorferstraße 7a, 2361 Laxenburg

• Approx. 15 min. walk to the main entrance

On weekends and holidays

Free shuttle bus service from car park P3 to 200 metres in front of the main entrance and back for all holders of a ticket for the light garden. The low-floor bus runs every 7-10 minutes between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and can accommodate wheelchairs and prams.

4. ROUTE

How long does the circular route take?
The circular route is approximately 3 km long. Depending on your walking speed, it takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete.
Is there seating available?
Yes, there are benches on the circular route.
Where are the WCs located?
At the entrance/exit, as well as in Gastro Zone 1 and Gastro Zone 2 (Franzensburg).
When is the last entry?

Last admission is at 7:30 p.m. daily.
Park closes at 22:00.

Trained personnel

Our trained staff are available at regular intervals along the circular route to answer any questions you may have.

5 GASTRO

Is food and drink available on site?
Along the circular route you will find 2 catering areas where you can indulge in culinary delights.
Which payment methods are accepted?

Our food stands accept both cash and card payments. We recommend that you bring both payment options with you.

Disinfection & Hygiene

The catering and sanitary facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
