Five years of magic, light and wonder – and in 2025, everything will be outshone!
At dusk, Laxenburg Palace Park is transformed into a glowing fantasy world once again – Illumina is back! And it's bigger, more spectacular and more international than ever before: to mark its 5th anniversary, a brand new three-kilometre circular trail awaits you, taking you through a whole new dimension of light art.

7 January 2026 to 11 January 2026, daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Three kilometres full of dazzling surprises, captivating soundscapes and unique light art – many installations will be on display in Austria for the first time, created by international artists from Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and beyond.
Convenient shuttle bus service from Vienna!
For a car-free journey, we are once again offering a shuttle bus service from Vienna and back. The comfortable shuttle bus will take you and your family (prams can be transported inside the bus) directly to the entrance of the castle park.
Combined ticket including bus – also valid on sold-out days.

P3 shuttle at the weekend
Free shuttle bus service from car park P3 to 200 metres in front of the main entrance and back for all holders of a ticket for the light garden. The low-floor bus runs every 7-10 minutes between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and can accommodate wheelchairs and prams.

Visitors can recharge their batteries for the circular trail in our two dining areas along the route. A wide range of regional food and drinks awaits you.
From traditional delicacies and sweet treats to vegetarian and vegan options, there is something for everyone. Punch and other warm beverages invite you to linger in our magical world of lights.
Monday & Thursday* are our family days
Since children's eyes light up especially brightly in our light garden, we offer families a discounted combination ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children (6-14 years old); children under 5 are always free).
Limited capacity
In order to improve the visitor experience, we have reduced the individual slots and the number of daily visitors compared to previous years. There is therefore a limited capacity with timed entry. It is best to book now to secure the date and time of your choice.
